Serum No5 Swatch & Review of “Mint to Be”
To be, or not to be? If it’s mint, then check all the yeses!!
It’s no secret that I love sea-foam/mint polish. I don’t know why! It’s not even a color I am normally drawn to. I’ve never had the inclination to drape my furniture in hospital wall green but I will re-enact the Kohl’s “open! open! open!” commercial if you wave one in front of me behind a window. I bee-line straight towards them and have to have a debate inside my head to put it down even when I know it’s an *exact* replica of the 100 other mint lacquers I own.
So you know with a polish named “Mint to Be”, I’m going to include way too many pictures. In fact it actually took me about an hour to narrow them down to what’s here..
Continuing on in the brand new Serum No. 5 line is…
See swatches, review and more after the jump!!
Let’s take a closer look at this one as there’s more than meets the eye here..
This isn’t your ordinary mint polish.
Swirled in a base of mint green are micro silver glitter, micro matte green glitter (super minty fresh specs as I think of them), medium silver hexes and even holographic micro glitters.
The base is also not a flat pastel, but is quite dynamic. Jumping ahead a bit to one of the swatch pictures, you can see the sheen and shimmer when shot with a flash:
Also heavily opaque, it only takes two coats to achieve full coverage (and tons of silver hexes!)
(Sorry for the lighting in this one, holy wash-out Batman!!)
I LOVE MINT POLISH!!!!!!!!
And this is definitely one of the more interesting of my mint collection:
Two coats “MtB” with Seche Vite topcoat:
This polish dries matte/satin and has a dry texture to it prior to topcoat.
Here, without any topcoat:
And MORE PICTURES: POST ALL THE PICTURES!
I love how the silver hexes are a bit subdued in this polish. Like out of focused twinkling lights across water. Mr. NB said something about snow, which didn’t make any sense to me but I thought I would include that blurb just in case.
Serum No.5 just debuted their new line and can be found at their SHOP and on FACEBOOK where you can interact and get inside scoops and swatches.
Full size bottles (15ml) are available for $12, mini bottles (6ml) are available for $5
This line is very diverse and offers everything from black and white glitters to the mint dream you see above. (Plus glow in the dark? You can thank Mr. NB for testing that one out. Stay tuned to see what a trooper he is!)
Seriously. I love mint.
