Lime Crime “Milky Ways” Nail Polish Swatch & Review

Guess what I have for you, lovelies!

A little blurb from their website:

7 pastel shades, inspired by confectionery delights from Marie Antoinette’s table.
Recklessly pigmented crème formula is rich, smooth and opaque in just two coats. Each bottle comes equipped with a flat, wide brush for superb control and flawless application.
Never tested on animals. 3-Free.

I originally intended to purchase the entire Lime Crime debut nail polish line titled “Les Desserts d’Antoinette”. Unfortunately I was only able to pick up “Milky Ways” and “Pastelchio”. I know many of you have said you are waiting for swatches before purchasing, so here are two to start.

today features swatches and review of “Milky Ways”!Lime Crime Nail Polish Swatches“Milky Ways”

The Lime Crime website describes “Milky Ways” as: cream off-white french tip nail polish. Opaque cream. Great for doing accents, half-moon and french tip manicures!

Kleancolor CRACK crackle polish in TEAL Swatch & Review

Kleancolor Crack Nail Polish

OPI “Spotted” polish, which is an “effect topper-polish” (is that a good term?) got me searching for what other types of “effect-topper-party-poppers” might be out there that I wasn’t aware of.

That’s when I stumbled onto… uh..ERROR ERROR HTML ERROR FONT REMOVED… (good job, Christina, for having the foresight to write it down yet not the care of keeping the paper). I believe it’s a nail polish brand that starts with a D (feel free to jump in, anyone) not from the US that offers a crackle polish a bit different than the crackle effect most of us are used to. Whereas most crackle effects are like weathered wood, this one offered clean lines and equal horizontal splitting. Similar to a tortoise shell!

So I went in search of {insert brand here} polish, only to find that I would have to do quite a bit of leg work and the cost would be $20 at minimum. I’m so strapped right now that I’m on a no-buy for air let alone another crackle polish.

Then I came across these swatches of Kleancolor “Crack”:

NOTD Cracked Neon

Today’s NOTD is A cracked neon.

(Pre-Top coat) This is one coat of OPI “Shatter the Scales” over three coats China Glaze “Pink Voltage”
Now with topcoat…
(Sorry about the clean-up, my hand wasn’t very steady that day)
annd… for kicks, Later that night I refreshed it with a Pink and Holo Glitter Topcoat (Spoiled “Pinky Glitter”)
This is definitely one of my favorite Crackles. For reference: I put thicker coats on my Index and Ring fingers, thinner coats on my Pinkie and Middle. Thinner coats result in finer lines and a more shredded look.
One of my favorite crackle combos to date!

New Lynnderella Release “Sweet Somethings For A Summer Solstice”

All drama aside, I just found out that Lynnderella’s blog is back up and running. I have very personal feelings regarding much of what has been said recently but THIS post, MY post, is just about sharing the new release and it’s swatches. Because information is always good! Do with it what you will.

Rainbow Honey “A Little Kindness” Equestria Collection Swatch & Review

I thought long and hard about the best possible way to present the (truly) incredible collection from Indie company “Rainbow Honey”. You all know how much I love pictures and with 8 shades that are WAY more versatile than I anticipated, it might literally be impossible to put it all together without having servers crash. Every server. All over the globe.

So I’ve split up the collection into a series of 8 posts. (Actually 8+ and counting as it may end up being many more than just the base 8. They’re that cool).

I’m also going to go against the grain and actually start this series with my favorite of the collection:

Green & Gold Holo Gradient Tutorial with the blog Pretty Face, Happy Bank!

Today I have a very special post, in collaboration with the awesome blog “Pretty Face, Happy Bank”! Not only does it focus on being frugal in our absurdly expensive world, but the blog owner is both gorgeous and sweet as a doll. She’s seriously one of my new favorite blogs and bloggers.

This week “Pretty Face, Happy Bank” is dedicated to wearable color tutorials and I got to create the look for a green gradient.

OPI Spiderman Collection “Call Me Gwen-Ever” Nail Polish Swatch & Review

Gwen-Ever nail polish

Today, thanks to one of my favorite commentors, I have decided to post a few of my swatches of the OPI Spiderman Collection! They’re just been waiting around for me, and I think it’s overdue.

First, the back-story to make you lacquer-envious! I had been hunting this collection since well before it even came out. Superheros? OPI? The polish “Just Spotted The Lizard”?? Nailblogasm. Unfortunately I wasn’t having any luck. I would read someone recant their tale of finding it at Ulta, only to go in and have them tell me I was early. (Oh but they have them all in the back and this counter lady gets to “play with them and even take the collection home early and oooo it’s so amazing”. (Make note to Pickle: train to attack on command.. maybe become a cat burglar while we’re at it).

But, in maturing through life’s trials, I have become a relatively patient person. So I began to simply happily count the days, checking in at retailers every now and then. Then… fire..brimstone…pain..hurt trouble..horrible day gone wild! And so what happened?

Mr.NB came home from work with the entire collection, including the shatter, to cheer me up. (And it’s not as if we have a bunch of extra money.)

Oh, mama. Be jealous, ladies.
